Hi friend,

As the summer season starts to wind up in the Dolomites, I've got some important reminders for those of you headed there or those of you who have dreamt about going... the access rules shifted a lot for 2026, and I don't want you showing up at a trailhead only to be turned around.

If you're planning a Dolomites trip this year, please read this before you book anything else.

Seceda — you now need a timed cable car ticket. Starting this weekend, May 22, 2026, the Ortisei–Furnes–Seceda cableway requires a pre-booked online ticket with a 30-minute time slot. Walk-up tickets at the valley station are only available if a slot hasn't already sold out — and on weekends, they will.

The good news: hiking on foot is still completely unrestricted. If you've been dreaming of that ridgeline shot, book the cable car the moment your dates are firm.

Alpe di Siusi — pre-booking is now mandatory for parking. This is the big change nobody's talking about loudly enough. For 2026, both P1 Spitzbühl and P2 Compatsch require online reservations. You used to be able to just show up before 9 AM and grab a spot — that's over. Bookings open up to six days ahead, the road is still closed to private traffic from 9 AM to 5 PM, and weekends fill fast.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo — same drill, more expensive. The Misurina toll road still requires advance booking at auronzo.info. Parking is €40/car for 12 hours, and July and August weekends are gone weeks in advance. If you don't book, you're not driving up. Period.

I found the best way around this is to just take the DolomitiBus from Misurina; if you are staying in Cortina, I would take the bus from there. It's just easier to get around the Dolomites in the summer when you do this. You would be on a time crunch, but honestly, I found it manageable.

And here's the silver lining for hut hopefuls:

If you struck out on a rifugio reservation back in, now is the time to check again.

People cancel as the summer winds up, and trip plans change, weather shifts, and life happens. I check the booking systems weekly and snag spots this way all the time.

More recently, for my trip to the Dolomites this summer, I FINALLY SNAGGED A SPOT AT RIFUGIO LAGAZUOI!

Patience pays off. I hope it wasn't a glitch!

Looking for 13 Solo Female Travelers to Come to Iceland with Me in 2027 🇮🇸

I started counting up the savings you'd get if you came with me..and it's pretty SWEET!

  • Transportation (meaning you don't pay for gas or rent a car)
  • 6 Breakfasts and 5 Dinners (Meals generally cost 40+USD)
  • ALL city transfers
  • Double occupancy in 3-star hotels and a guesthouse (limited single rooms available)
  • The Intinerary is full of big hits and wonders that you don't have to worry about booking-- the Blue Lagoon is on there if you've ever wanted to go

One person has already booked a spot, and I have a few people on the fence, understandably. This is a small-group trip to Iceland designed for solo female travelers who want the magic of Iceland without the logistics headache (or the hassle of going alone). Waterfalls, black sand beaches, hot springs, and the kind of slow-travel rhythm I build into everything I do. Only 13 spots — and a few are already spoken for.

👉 See the full itinerary and book your spot here

And of course, if you have any questions, I would love to answer them. Send me an email, let's get the conversation going!

That's all for now, talk to you all next week!
