Hi Reader,
I've had a whirlwind summer hiking in the French Alps, getting adjusted to life in Belgium, visiting Paris with family and I'll be off to Georgia tomorrow (the country) for a week..
I’ve also been doing a lot of talking lately, and this week I’m sharing two conversations I’m really proud of.
- Goatcast by Bookatrekking
Bookatrekking just launched a podcast called Goatcast, and I’m one of the first three guests. Host Sierd van der Bij and I talked about:
- Solo hiking and where the confidence actually comes from
- Why mountain huts make long-distance trekking more social than you’d expect
- What keeps pulling me back to the trail
If you’ve ever thought about a hut-to-hut trek but weren’t sure you could do it alone, start with this episode.
- National Military Spouse Network Highlight
The National Military Spouse Network featured me in its Military Spouse Highlights series. I talk about going from managing at Enterprise, to teaching fitness, to working at the USO, and finally building a travel business during our Italy assignment when SOFA rules limited my job options. I also cover the Jordan group trip cancellation and what it taught me about running a travel business.
If you’re a military spouse trying to build a career that moves with you, I wrote this one for you. Read my NMSN feature or watch the YouTube episode below:
Lastly, if you have been thinking about going to Iceland with me in January, this is your last chance. The trip closes on October 28th, 2026. You can book here. I would love for you to join me in Iceland to experience the Northern Lights and how amazing Iceland is in the wintertime.
