Hey friend,
I get this question all the time:
"Where should I start if I’ve never hiked in the Dolomites before?"
Totally fair — planning a hike here can feel overwhelming at first. With jaw-dropping ridgelines, rifugios on cliffs, and a region that is VAST!
Here's where I think you should start:
Pale di San Martino
If you're looking for a beautiful area that is less crowded within distance of major sites and still feels epic, I always recommend the Pale di San Martino
It’s one of those areas in the Dolomites that feels straight out of a fairytale — pine forests, jagged peaks, a wide-open trail, and cows grazing beside a crystal-clear stream.

It’s great for:
- First-time Dolomites visitors
- Families or solo hikers
- Those not ready for major elevation gain
- Anyone wanting THAT “wow” factor without the stress

Solo hiker. Guide for the “not-so-extreme” crowd. Believer that you don’t have to summit a peak to have a real adventure.
PS — Jordan Trip Reminder
Yes, the trip is still happening — and yes, it’s safe.
I’m staying in close touch with my guide in Jordan, and we’re monitoring things closely. If anything changes, your spot is fully refundable.
This is a meaningful adventure — hiking Petra’s back trails, eating home-cooked meals with local women, stargazing in the desert. I’d love to have you with me.
